It’s the end of another long hard day, Sit back on the front porch pass the hat, Split a bottle of soda pop, pick a little guitar, Maybe just chew the fat,

It’s not just the sunshine, not just the hills, And not just the sunshine’s fiery glow, But it’s life’s simplicity, And the warmest damn people you could ever hope to know,

Appalachian waaaaaaaaaaaay, They say once you’ve been there you never want to go away,

Appalachian waaaaaaaaaaay, I came here a year ago for just a week, Looks like I’m gonna stay

Maybe it’s the good-hearted people, The home cooked food, Or the lack of concern with “Hollywood”, Like hearing “Howdy neighbor” where ever you go, Seems it’s got it’s own special kind of feeling good,

You see I love it in the morning, I love it at noon, I love it even more when the sun goes down, If I come up missin’, no where to be found, Maybe it’s cause I was Appalachia bound,
